SIPBS CMAC Core - Scale-up of Attrition-Prone Crystallisation Processes
Johnston, Jenna (Researcher)
This project centred on building an experimental workflow to assess the rate of attrition of particles in a stirred vessel to gain insights into the best methods for scale-up. This project performed experiments across the Crystalline and EasyMax systems and utilised digital tools, including CFD from M-star and population balance modelling software, FormulatedProducts from PSE Siemens. This allowed for insights into the particle interactions within a stirred vessel and also to quantify the attrition rate for given conditions.
